Job Details - Anesthesiologist (Dunkirk, NY)
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $10,250 - $10,800
  • Location: Dunkirk, NY 14048 - Chautauqua County, Western New York; scenic Lake Erie nearby
  • Assignment Duration: 13+ weeks (potential to extend; current run: Feb 24, 2026 - Jan 16, 2027)
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • End Date: January 16, 2027
  • Shifts per Week: 3
  • Shift Duration: 16 Hour Days
  • Shift: 8-hour day shift + beeper call; if not on call, up to 10 hours until cases complete
  • Call: Weeknight and weekend pager call required; perform own cases while on call
  • Specialties: General Anesthesia, Orthopedic Anesthesia
  • Openings: 3 anesthesiologist positions
  • Charting Systems: Epic, iPro (experience with Epic preferred)
  • MD to CRNA Ratio: 1:4 - supervisory model during day; independent cases when on call
Anesthesiologist Job Requirements
  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology (general and orthopedic anesthesia experience preferred)
  • Completion of an accredited anesthesiology residency
  • Current, unrestricted New York State physician license required (NY physician license)
  • ECFMG and FLEX (if applicable)
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as an anesthesiologist
  • Familiarity with Epic and iPro charting systems is beneficial
Key Responsibilities - Anesthesiologist
  • Direct and coordinate clinical activities in the Anesthesia Department
  • Provide perioperative medical management for patients undergoing surgery and other procedures
  • Perform pre-anesthesia assessments and obtain/verify informed consent
  • Discuss anesthetic options, risks, and perioperative plans with patients and families
  • Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia for general and orthopedic cases
  • Monitor physiological status and perform clinical interventions as needed
  • Supervise and collaborate with CRNAs (1:4 ratio) and the broader perioperative team
  • Document care accurately in the EHR (Epic / iPro) and participate in handoffs and multidisciplinary rounds
