- Support Staff Available: APPs (Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants), RNs
- Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
- Credentialing Timeline: 45-60 days
- Board: Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM) or Family Medicine/Internal Medicine with 2 years of EM experience. Alternative boards (ABPS) not accepted.
- Licenses: Active Louisiana state license
- DEA / CDS: Active Louisiana DEA and CDS required
- Certifications: ATLS, ACLS, PALS, BLS
- Experience: Residency trained in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine. Minimum 2 years of EM experience.
- Other Qualifications: Flu and other immunizations required (no waiver). Must present board certification in hand.
- Provide emergency medical care to patients in a 12-bed ED
- Supervise and collaborate with Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants during assigned shifts
- Document and manage patient records using Epic EMR
- Perform emergency procedures consistent with a Level 3 trauma center
- Coordinate with specialty backup services (ENT, Cardiology, Ortho, etc.) as needed
