Job Requirements
  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine
  • Board Certification or Fellowship in Anesthesiology (Board Eligible considered)
  • Completion of an ACGME-approved Residency in Anesthesiology
  • Current Virginia medical license or eligibility to obtain a Virginia license
  • ECFMG / FLEX certification if applicable for IMG candidates
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical anesthesia experience; prior locum tenens or community hospital experience preferred
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide perioperative anesthetic care for general surgery, orthopedic cases, and obstetric patients
  • Perform pre-anesthesia assessments, obtain/verify informed consent, and develop individualized anesthetic plans
  • Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia with continuous physiologic monitoring
  • Manage obstetric anesthesia including labor analgesia and cesarean deliveries as needed
  • Supervise and collaborate with CRNAs, coordinate workflows in multiple ORs, and direct departmental activities when assigned
  • Document patient care accurately in Epic and communicate effectively with surgical teams
