Physical Therapist - Travel Contract

Job Description

Looking for a change of scenery and a chance to help others. Join a traveling Physical Therapist role in Roseburg, OR focused on home health care. Perform patient evaluations and provide therapeutic services according to physician orders. Provide supervision and evaluation of Physical Therapy Assistants and Home Health Aides as assigned. Must have reliable transportation, a current driver’s license, and agency-required liability insurance when performing home visits.


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA or equivalent accrediting body.
  • Current, active, and unencumbered Oregon physical therapy license required to start the assignment.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Familiarity with electronic documentation and basic computer functions including email and navigation of online training and HR systems.
  • Experience with home health settings, including home environment evaluation and delivering skilled physical therapy in patients’ homes.
  • Ability to supervise and evaluate PTAs and home health aides; knowledge of delegating and supervising PTA treatment per regulatory guidance.
  • Must have reliable transportation, current driver’s license, and agency-required liability insurance.
  • State- or client-specific licensure, registration, or certification as required by regulatory authorities for the state of assignment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of physical therapy experience preferred.
  • Prior home health travel experience preferred.


Assignment Details

  • Shift: Evenings, 5x8 schedule.

Impacting Patient Care

Provide skilled physical therapy services in patients’ homes according to physician plans of care. Participate in developing and updating treatment plans, document and report patient progress, instruct family members and other agency personnel as appropriate, and coordinate discharge planning. Adhere to state-specific therapy service regulations and supervision requirements for PTAs when applicable.
