Physical Therapist - Travel Contract

Looking for a change of scenery and a chance to help others. Join a traveling Physical Therapist assignment in Woodbridge, VA at an outpatient, physician-owned PT/OT clinic where you will treat orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions, post-operative patients, and sports injuries. This role emphasizes collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members, delivering primarily 1:1 care supported by a rehab aide/tech, and using TheraOffice and Ocupro EMR systems.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
  • Active Virginia Physical Therapy license required to start the assignment.
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience preferred with outpatient orthopedics, post-operative care, general MSK conditions, or sports injuries. (Preferred: clearly indicated as preferred.)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with physicians and patients and to collaborate with other disciplines.
  • Comfort using electronic medical records. Experience with TheraOffice and/or Ocupro is preferred.
  • BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a physician-owned outpatient clinic.
  • Energetic, communicative clinician comfortable with direct physician interaction.
  • Experience working with a rehab aide/tech in a 1:1 treatment model.


Assignment Details

  • Clinic hours: Monday–Thursday 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM; Friday 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
  • Typical schedule may be adjusted to modified hours such as early-day blocks (for example, three early days with 7:00 AM–5:00 PM and one day 7:00 AM–4:00 PM), or later start times (for example, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 8:30 AM–5:30 PM).
  • Visit cadence: 30-minute follow-up visits; new patient evaluations scheduled for 60 minutes.
  • EMR systems in use: TheraOffice and Ocupro.

Impacting Patient Care

Provide one-on-one therapy in an outpatient clinic treating orthopedic, post-operative, and sports-related conditions. Collaborate directly with physicians and interdisciplinary staff to optimize patient outcomes. Use established EMR systems to document care and support clinic workflows. Caseloads are managed with support from a rehab aide/tech to maintain patient flow and quality of care.

Commuting options include regional highways with approximately a 30–45 minute drive to central Washington, D.C., and nearby VRE and Metrobus connections for public transit.
