Pulmonary & Critical Care Intensivist Opportunity Academic Gulf Coast Health System
A leading academic health system along the Gulf Coast is seeking a BC/BE Pulmonary & Critical Care Intensivist to join a growing team dedicated to advancing patient care, medical education, and research throughout the region.
This is an excellent opportunity to practice high-acuity critical care medicine in a collaborative academic environment while enjoying the lifestyle and amenities of Gulf Coast living.
Position Highlights:
• 7 on / 7 off schedule (26 weeks per year)
• Academic appointment with teaching opportunities
• Supervise and mentor Pulmonary & Critical Care fellows
• Opportunity to participate in ECMO program
• Mix of ICU and pulmonary medicine
• Collaborative multidisciplinary critical care team
• Research and quality improvement opportunities available
Clinical Responsibilities:
• Manage critically ill ICU patients with complex medical conditions
• Advanced ventilator management and hemodynamic support
• Diagnose and treat pulmonary diseases including COPD, asthma, ILD, pulmonary hypertension, and sleep disorders
• Perform procedures including:
- Bronchoscopy
- Thoracentesis
- Chest tube placement
- Central and arterial lines
- Intubation
• Respond to ICU emergencies with evidence-based interventions
Ideal Candidate:
• BC/BE in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine
• Passion for academic medicine, teaching, and mentorship
• Strong procedural and critical care skillset
• Interest in collaborative, patient-centered care
