JOB SUMMARY
The Teacher I at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for overseeing the daily activities and development of area team members within the Child Care Center and supporting the operation and maintenance of the center. This role requires an individual with experience in Early Childhood Education and engages excellent communication and organizational skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and other team members, maintain accurate and comprehensive records, support teachers in lesson development, and assist with budget and operational planning to provide a high quality Child Care Center experience.

FUNCTIONS
Basic Requirements:

Maintains a clean, safe and stimulating environment in the classroom, outside and other areas of child care.

Remains responsible for following an educational program of activities in line with NMMC educational goals and objectives.

Plans for and implement special activities which apply to other age groups in cooperation with goals and philosophy of NMMC Child Care.

Attends all staff meetings and educational programs provided by NMMC which you have been assigned.

Assists in lesson planning, record keeping and evaluating.

Meets 15 hours staff development requirement.

Remains responsible for any lesson plans, today sheets, special activities, supply request, care of equipment and classroom materials.

Remains responsible for meeting special needs of children(ex. Special diet, allergies, health issues).

Provides transportation support as assigned, which includes driving a company-owned van to transport school-aged children to and from public elementary schools within the city and transporting children ranging from 4 years old to school-aged for field trips

Performs other duties as assigned.

Uses time wisely and adheres to all NMMC scheduling for arrival, departure, lunch and breaks to ensure the safety of the children and the respect of other fellow employees.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
-
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent . Required
-
Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Development. Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
-
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). . Upon Hire. Required
Work Experience
-
1-3 years. 1 year of experience in Early Childhood Education. Preferred
Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Good organizational, budgetary and communication (written and verbal) skills; required

Knowledge of classroom scheduling, classroom management, and age-appropriate curriculum; required

Excellent interpersonal skills; required

Plan, organize, and schedule all special program activities

Effectively and efficiently work with staff members and serve as a Team Leader
