Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.
• Travel experience is required.
• Experience with Epic is required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Additional Details:
Artificial nails are not allowed for travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home or terminated if policy is not followed.
If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.
Eligibility as current/previous employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.
At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job being applied to.
Required Skills/Experience: - Med-Surg/Telemetry/Critical drips/Trach care required.
Preferred Skills/Experience: - Peritoneal dialysis preferred.
Special Requests: - Block scheduling allowed as long as unit needs are met. Scheduling requests are taken into consideration.
Unit Details: - Respiratory and medical patient population; adults and geriatrics. - Trachs are not vented. - RNs titrate Heparin, Cardizem (up to 15mg/hr only), Lasix, Dopamine (low dose renal perfusion only), and Amiodarone. - Monitor techs are on the unit 24/7. Charge RNs read strips, and RNs review strips each shift. - Traveler may be asked to fill in the charge nurse role; cross-training is provided if willing/interested. - Equipment includes Cpap, Bipap, High Flow O2, IV pumps, sequential compression devices, pulse oximetry, and specialty beds. RNs perform trach care, and RT maintains vents.
Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend on a set rotation, either weekends 1 and 3 or weekends 2 and 4. - Holiday rotation with core staff; manager considers previous-year holidays worked and preferences when scheduling.
Floating Requirements: - If not needed on 3P, required to float to 4P or 5P (Med-Surg) units or the Emergency Department to care for boarded patients. Boarders are intermixed in ED. Float pool floats first, then travelers rotate.
7 days maximum time off
1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years
1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
Driver’s license required for submission
Certifications:
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
