Job Description

Awell-established cardiothoracic surgery program in Silverdale, Washington isseeking a Locums Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant or NursePractitioner for a 6-9 month assignment. This is an excellent opportunity foran experienced surgical APP to join a collaborative cardiovascular and thoracicsurgery team, providing inpatient care, perioperative management, and callcoverage in a high-acuity hospital setting.

Theideal candidate will have experience in cardiothoracic surgery and becomfortable managing postoperative patients, ICU care, and surgicalconsultations.

Compensation: $190 Per Hour

PositionDetails
  • Assignment Duration: 6-9 Months
  • Practice Setting:
    • Hospital: 95%
    • Office/Clinic: 5%
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday
  • Call Requirements:
    • 1-2 weekday call shifts
    • Weekend call rotation
  • Night Call Hours: 5:00 PM - 7:00 AM

ClinicalResponsibilities
  • Assist in the management of cardiothoracic surgery patients throughout the continuum of care
  • Conduct inpatient rounding and postoperative patient management
  • Evaluate new consults and admissions
  • Participate in ICU management and patient monitoring
  • Assist with perioperative and postoperative care plans
  • Collaborate closely with cardiothoracic surgeons, intensivists, nursing staff, and ancillary services
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR

PatientVolume
  • Hospital Patients Per Day: 5-10
  • Admissions: 0-3 per day
  • ICU Census: 2-7 patients
  • Surgical Cases: 1-2 per day
PreferredClinical Experience & Procedures

Experiencewith the following is highly preferred:
  • Cardiac aneurysm repair
  • Aorto-thoracic aneurysm repair
  • Lung resection procedures, including VATS
  • Chest wall and pleural procedures
  • Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs)
  • Ventilation management
  • Evaluation and management of acute volume and blood pressure issues
  • Central line insertion
  • Cardiothoracic postoperative care
  • ICU and critical care management

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
  • Certified PA-C or NP required
  • Active Washington license required
  • Cardiothoracic surgery experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary surgical team
  • Local candidates strongly preferred
