Physical Therapist - Travel Contract

Job Description

Looking for a change of scenery and a chance to help others. Join our travel Physical Therapist opportunity in Santa Fe, NM, providing outpatient physical therapy services to patients recovering from injury or managing chronic conditions. You will evaluate patients, develop and implement plan(s) of care, administer and supervise a range of physical therapy modalities, document treatment and progress, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and referring physicians. This position includes directing PT Assistants and Rehabilitation Assistants, participating in quality assurance and performance improvement activities, and maintaining professional competence through continuing education.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctorate, Master’s, Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current New Mexico Physical Therapist licensure required to start assignment.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
  • Demonstrated skills in assessment/evaluation, clinical decision-making, documentation, and time management in an outpatient setting.
  • Experience with common physical therapy modalities and interventions including therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, soft tissue mobilization, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and functional mobility training.
  • Ability to direct and oversee PT Assistants and Rehabilitation Assistants and to co-sign documentation as required by facility policy.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous outpatient clinic experience is preferred.
  • Experience with blocked scheduling is preferred but not required.


Assignment Details

  • Shift hours: 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
  • Work schedule: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day.
  • Work type: Full Time, outpatient environment.
  • Dress code: Khaki pants and white polo.

Impacting Patient Care

Provide evidence-based outpatient physical therapy treatments that maintain or restore function, manage pain, and promote mobility and health. You will coordinate care with referring physicians, assemble home exercise programs, document treatment and progress, complete discharge summaries when indicated, and support quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives that affect patient outcomes.
