Job Description

A high-volume, Level I Trauma Center in the Champaign-Urbana, Illinois area, is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join a collaborative and well-supported Emergency Department team. This is an excellent opportunity for an NP who thrives in a fast-paced environment and values strong interdisciplinary support.

Opportunity Highlights

Schedule:

  • Variable, rotating 12-hour shifts
  • 13-14 shifts per 4-week schedule block
  • Monthly rotation of day, evening, and overnight shifts
  • 3 holidays annually (one major winter holiday required)

Clinical Environment:

  • Busy Level I Trauma Center
  • Average volume of 200-300 patients per day
  • Over 92,000 Emergency Department visits annually
  • Evaluate and manage patients with ESI levels 1-5

Team Structure & Support:

  • APP-friendly group with over 15 Advanced Practice Providers
  • Collaborative practice alongside 45 Emergency Medicine physicians
  • On-site Emergency Department pharmacists and social workers
  • 24/7 In-House Specialty Coverage:
  • Anesthesiology
  • Hospital Medicine
  • OB/GYN
  • Intensivists
  • Pediatric Hospitalists and PICU
  • Trauma Surgery

Qualifications

  • NCCPA Certification
  • Current Physician Assistant licensure (or eligibility)
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of Physician Assistant experience as an Emergency Medicine Provider

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Compensation Range: $63.72 - $82.84
  • Final compensation is based on experience, qualifications, training, licensure, shifts worked, and other factors
