Obstetrics & Gynecology Physician

Seeking a Locums OBGYNPhysician in Midland, MI to provide inpatient-only coverage for 24-hour callshifts. This opportunity offers a collaborative Labor & Deliveryenvironment with midwife support and a combination of primary and secondarycall responsibilities.

The ideal candidate iscomfortable managing obstetrical emergencies, gynecologic procedures, andinpatient women's health care in a hospital-based setting.

Position Details

• Setting: Inpatient Only
• Shift Type: 24-hour call shifts
• Shift Hours: 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM
• EMR: Epic / Dragon

Primary CallResponsibilities

• Provider remains onsite for the full 24-hour shift
• Call rooms available at the hospital
• Primary focus on Labor & Delivery coverage and circumcisions
• Certified nurse midwives provide overnight L&D coverage from 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Midwives practice independently and contact the physician only as needed

Secondary CallResponsibilities

• Secondary call may be taken from the hotel
• Provider must check in onsite each morning at 7:00 AM

Responsibilities include:

Dilation and Curettage (D&C)

Emergency gynecologic surgeries

Emergency Department coverage

Reading NSTs

Tubal ligations

Laparoscopy

Labor & Delivery support as needed

Circumcisions as needed

Procedures & Skills

• Circumcision experience preferred, but not required
• Internal providers can assist with circumcisions if needed
• Comfortable managing obstetric and gynecologic emergencies
• Strong inpatient obstetrics experience required

Qualifications

MD or DO required

Successful completion of an Obstetrics &Gynecology residency program approved by the ACGME or AOA

Board Certified or Board Eligible inObstetrics & Gynecology

Physicians who completed residency within thepast five years are eligible if board eligible

Current certificationsrequired:

Fetal Heart Monitoring

ACLS

BLS

PALS

Michigan medical license preferred

IMLC candidates will also be considered
