Job Description

A healthcare organization in New York City is seeking a OB Hospitalist to provide inpatient obstetric care on a Labor and Delivery Unit in Brooklyn. This role offers the opportunity to manage labor, deliveries, obstetric emergencies, and coordinated patient care in a collaborative hospital setting.

About the Opportunity:

  • Shift: Rotating day, night, weekend, and holiday coverage
  • Schedule: Full-time (Monday through Sunday)
  • Hours: 40-hour work week; shift options may include 24-hour, 16-hour, 12-hour, and 8-hour shifts
  • Setting: Inpatient hospital labor and delivery unit

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient obstetric care, including labor management, delivery, and postpartum care
  • Evaluate and manage obstetric triage patients and inpatient admissions
  • Perform vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and other obstetric procedures as clinically indicated
  • Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies and stabilize high-acuity patients
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to support coordinated patient care and quality outcomes

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
  • Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Unrestricted New York State medical license or eligibility for licensure
  • Current DEA registration
