Locum Tenens Urgent Care Physician Western Illinois

Position Overview

A well-established Urgent Care clinic in Western Illinois is seeking a Locum Tenens Urgent Care Physician (MD/DO) to join its team. This role offers flexible scheduling, a collaborative work environment, and the opportunity to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced, supportive setting.

Schedule
  • Shifts: 6a 6p or 10a 10p (typically 4 consecutive shifts)

  • MD/DO may work independently from 6a 9a

  • NP may work independently from 9p 10p

  • Walk-in clinic averaging patients per day, shared among 3 providers

Clinical Scope

Typical urgent care presentations include:

  • Minor orthopedic injuries, x-rays, splinting, suturing

  • Foreign body removal (eye, skin)

  • Respiratory illnesses (cough, sore throat, flu)

  • Dermatologic complaints (rashes, minor infections)

  • Urinary tract infections, STD testing, pelvic exams

Procedural skills required: Splinting and suturing

Requirements
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine

  • Certifications: ATLS and PALS required

  • Active Illinois medical license

  • Prior urgent care or emergency medicine experience preferred
