Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
  • Active Michigan Physical Therapist license is required to start the assignment. LARA and/or Nursys documentation reflecting an active MI PT license must be provided.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS (AHA) certification required.
  • Documented PT experience. Work history and skills checklist current to within one year, pertinent to the Physical Therapist specialty, required.
  • Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years required.
  • Experience in outpatient settings preferred. Experience delegating to PTAs, athletic trainers, and aides is preferred.


Assignment Details

  • Facility Type: Outpatient clinic.
  • Shift Name: Days.
  • Shift Pattern: Typically Tuesday–Friday, may be Monday–Thursday if necessary. 40 hour guarantee.
  • Typical Shift Hours: 07:00–17:30.
  • Weekend Requirement: No weekends.
  • Floating: Candidate may be required to float to other facilities as needed.

Impacting Patient Care Nationwide

This position delegates responsibility to PTAs, athletic trainers, and aides. Activities are patient-focused and utilize assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation consistent with physical therapy standards and physician orders. Responsibilities include evaluation, development and submission of written treatment plans, scheduling and coordination of care, and patient/caregiver education. Documentation and plan of care updates are required as patient status changes.
