Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.

May include standing for greater than 5 hours at a time and possibly walking several miles per day. May require the ability to reach items above shoulder level and be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Must be available to work during the operating hours of 7am-7pm Monday thru Friday, Saturday and Sunday 7am-5pm. Shifts may need to change to ensure coverage of the service, assistance with training needs, and may include weekend and holiday coverage. Operating hours and days of week subject to change based on the needs of the department.

Assist pharmacist(s) in obtaining prior to admission medication histories; assess patient risk factors for adherence to prescribed regimens; review/enter patient allergies and triage medication-related problems identified via communication with pharmacists, other providers, or patients. Assist in the training of staff and development of procedures. Work with the prior authorization and patient assistance teams to asses medication coverage. Use of multiple computer devices and programs for adequate documentation are required. Associate or bachelor’s degree and hospital and/or retail pharmacy technician experience preferred.
