Job Description
The primary function of this position is to troubleshoot, repair and perform maintenance procedures on the hospital's telephone system, nurse call system, television system and two-way communication system.
- Supports the hospital's Christian mission and philosophy.
- Troubleshoots and performs repairs and maintenance on the telecommunications system.
- Makes all moves, adds and other changes to the switch and associated equipment. Trains hospital employees in telephone use.
- Makes all programming additions and deletions on the computer programs.
- Generates all reports needed for telecommunications management.
- Interacts with representatives of communication equipment and service vendors to solve complex telecommunication system problems.
- Assists the Director of Engineering Services in evaluating system needs and makes recommendations for future expansions.
- Reads and interprets service manuals, including installation and test procedures and their electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
