Mailroom Clerk

Job Description

  • Receive incoming mail and maintain the security of mail received.
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail.
  • Sort and prepare outgoing mail, affix proper postage, making sure that any prescriptions drugs coming from Employee Pharmacy are identified and kept secure.
  • Opens mail-in patient payments for NMMC-Tupelo, Pontotoc Health Services, Marion Regional Health Services, Tishomingo Health Services, Clay County Medical Center and Webster Health Services.
  • Scans checks and associated EOB’s and correspondence into SSI Document Imaging system in order to maintain paperless records of all patient information.
  • Delivers checks along with all correspondence to posting clerks for deposits and patient payment entry into the financial system.
  • Accesses Change of Address files (from a 3rd party vendor website) showing new patient addresses and makes these changes in the financial systems in order update our systems for good addresses and  to have patient mail delivered to correct addresses.

    REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Hands-on knowledge of NMMC Financial systems (FONS, PFM & MIS), SSI Document Imaging, Groupwise, Lotus 123, Internet Explorer and AMS / OfficeMax ordering.
  • Operate mail machine and letter opener.
  • Knowledge of postage rates and use of postage scale to determine postage required for mailing.
  • Knowledge of mail regulations.
