Physical Requirements
Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff. Must be able to move about in a complex physical environment.
Shift
Must be able to work at least 40 hours per week. To ensure the best patient outcomes and a healthy work environment, 50% of hours worked are to be within the hours of 3pm-7am and must include a minimum of 16 weekend hours in a 6-week schedule. Any modification of this requirement must be made at the discretion of the Nursing Operations Administrator/Service Line Nursing Director 
Job Summary
The Assistant Patient Care Manager (A-PCM) for the Per Diem Pool supports the patient care manager (PCM) whose human resource span of control exceeds acceptable UKHCstandards. He/She will provide supervision, coaching, mentoring and opportunities for growth to nursing staff and assist in the day-to-day management of the nursing unit(s). The A-PCM assists with scheduling, payroll management, monitoring of staff competencies, evaluation of staff performance, and special projects as assigned by the PCM. He/she will serve as the manager for clerical staff as appropriate on the assigned unit(s). Increased supervision and staff coaching/mentoring is associated with decreased staff turnover and improved patient outcomes. 
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
BLS plus unit specific competencies/certifications such as PALS, ACLS, etc

3-4 years of clinical experience
