Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• 12 months of acute care experience.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a New Mexico license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >100 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: HealthTrust Program - San Juan Regional Medical Center and no current placement allowed at Program: HealthTrust Program - San Juan Regional Medical Center.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: post operative patient care which includes ortho/neurosurgical/abdominal surgeries, NG tubes, chest tubes, foley catheter / turps, respiratory issues, diabetic patient care, sepsis, alcohol withdrawal, rib fractures, altered mental status, pain management

Preferred Skills/Experience: great customer service/patient experience skills

Required Credentials: Resume + Submission Form Area Specific Competency Exam Skills Checklist Screening Questions (see attachment) Must have at least 3.2 overall rating on skills checklist RN

Unit/Facility Details: will often see and care for Levels 1 and 2

Special Requests: They must follow and abide by all policies and guidelines while at SJRMC (same as the staff).

Shift & Scheduling: • Weekend Hours: at least 3 shifts per 4-week schedule • Call Requirements: none

Floating Requirements: Medical / Nephrology / Inpatient Rehab are sister units. They may float to Cardiology to take lower acuity patients or Med/Surg. May also float to Pediatrics to take adult patients only.

7 days maximum time off

1 reference from last 2 years (Manager/Supervisor reference type) - required for submission

1 reference from last 2 years (Charge/Lead reference type) - required for submission

Driver’s license required
