Position Summary:
Creates, builds, and maintains relationships with local EMS/Fire/Transport agencies – educating on the unique level of care and services UMC provides. Serves as a liaison between UMC and local services. Promotes UMC through outreach initiatives at EMS offices by communicating services and programs, identifying and analyzing the needs of EMS providers, and making recommendations to achieve business goals and strategic plans.

Qualifications


Graduation from and accredited school of nursing and two (2) years experience working in a pre-hospital or hospital emergency setting.
 
Licensing/Certification Requirements:
Valid License by State of Nevada to Practice as a Registered Nurse. Some positions may require Certification in a Specialty Area and/or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification accepted by the American Heart Association (AHA); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS – accepted by the American Red Cross); Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical Requirements

Knowledge of:
Pre-hospital and emergency care, marketing principles, adult learning theory, public relations practices, sales techniques, healthcare policies, clinical information/processes, medical terminology, physician office/practice management, customer services strategies, media relations, hospital operations and administration, department and hospital safety practice and procedures; patient rights; age specific patient care practices; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.
 
Skill in:
Developing, implementing and coordinating pre-hospital and emergency department specific processes with EMS providers; processes and procedures; producing and editing effective written and graphic materials; preparing clear, concise and effective outreach materials including brochures, reports, correspondence and other written materials; organizing work, setting priorities and meeting critical deadlines; using initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines; analyzing data and arriving at sound conclusions; conducting effective presentations to large and small groups; using computers and related software applications; communicating with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; efficient, effective and safe use of equipment. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment, stamina to remain standing for long periods of time, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
