Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.

This position requires use of a computer workstation, completion of tasks with repetitive motions, and occasional pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds. This position may require personnel to wear personal protective equipment to reduce risk of exposure to work-related hazards (e.g. handling of hazardous medications).

Shift is a rotating shift currently working between the hours of 7am and 5pm Monday thru Friday. Hours, rotation schedule, and operating days of the week may change based on the needs of the department. Position participates in holiday rotation shift with other Ambulatory Pharmacy Services.

This position will provide a variety of specialty pharmacy services including obtaining prior authorizations, enrolling patients’ in financial support programs, mail order tracking and drug inventory management, and coordinating first time dispenses and refills for specialty medications prescribed within UK HealthCare. You will work closely with nurses, physicians, and UK Specialty Pharmacy staff to improve access to medications for a variety of sub specialty disease states.

Hospital/retail pharmacy technician and/or healthcare customer service experience preferred
