Job Summary:

To direct, coordinate, implement, and evaluate operational and patient care services within an assigned area in accordance with institutional policies, standards of practices, and governmental regulations.

Education & Experience

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree in nursing and five (5) years of RN experience including three (3) years of supervisory experience

Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required:

Valid RN license

Preferred Qualifications:

RN experience in ICU, ER, or Periop.

Strong knowledge of nursing practice, workflows, and regulatory standards. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze complex operational data and implement effective solutions. Demonstrated ability to build trust and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the assigned perioperative areas, ensuring safe and effective patient flow from pre-admission to postoperative care.
  • Implement evidence-based perioperative practices and maintain a culture of clinical excellence.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce delays, cancellations, and turnaround times.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Partner with Sterile Processing leadership to ensure instrument readiness, quality assurance, and adherence to standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop nursing staff, supervisors, and clinical leaders within perioperative services.
  • Participate in staffing projections, workforce planning, and employee performance evaluations.
  • Resolve staff concerns and facilitate effective teamwork across interdisciplinary groups.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, staffing models, and cost-control measures.
  • Support capital planning for equipment, technology, and facility upgrades.
  • Lead perioperative committees and participate in hospital-wide initiatives.
  • Ensure clear and timely dissemination of policies, updates, and performance data to staff and stakeholders.
