Position Summary:
Responsible for ensuring hospital patients, visitors, family members, and staff environment is safe and welcoming. Provides expedited solutions to complaints, problems, and special needs. Provides lead direction and training to concierge staff.

Qualifications


Equivalent to graduation from high school and two (2) years of customer service experience or 1 year in a customer service lead role.
 
Licensing/Certification Requirements:
None.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical Requirements

Knowledge of:
Hospital directory; local area; hospital confidentiality policies; telephone and face-to-face communication etiquette; communicate with peers to standardize operations and expectations; staff scheduling practices and procedures; department and hospital safety practices and principles; infection control policies and practices; patient rights; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.
 
Skill in:
Applying customer service techniques; greeting and assisting the public; using general office equipment such as phones, copiers and facsimiles; communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction; coaching and mentoring peers by communicating effectively with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.
 
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Mobility to work throughout the hospital in a variety of environments; stamina to remain standing and/or walk for extended periods of time; vision to read printed materials and computer screens; hearing and speech to communicate effectively in-person, over the telephone. Strength and agility to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
