Education and Experience Required:
Degree (Associate's or Bachelor's) and two (2) years of experience in medical or third-party billing.

Proficient knowledge of medical billing bundled billing medical claims processing, insurance verification processes, and multiple insurance plan standards and regulations. Knowledge of coding. Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills. Knowledge of government assistance programs. Skill in the use of computers and related software applications. Interpersonal skills. Verbal and written communication skills. Math skills. Ability to explain available financing options.

Physical and Environmental Demands
Requires occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, occasional travelling to offsite locations, frequent activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, occasional bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, occasional crouching/stooping, occasional driving, occasional pushing/pulling, occasional reaching, constant sitting, occasional standing, occasional twisting, and occasional walking. (occasional-up to 20%, frequent-from 21% to 50%, constant-51% or more)

The University of Mississippi Medical Center, located in Jackson, is the state’s only academic medical center.
