Job Summary:
The primary duties of this position are to maintain and monitor for safety, security and assist Total Fitness members and potential members in the enjoyment of our fitness and wellness programs. Welcome, greet and provide assistance to facility members. Provide coverage at all times at front desk and assist members with check in, monitor exercise areas and assist participants in using exercise machines. Must be an experienced swimmer and prepared to rescue swimmers in need following Basic Water Rescue techniques. Perform daily equipment cleaning and light housekeeping duties in gyms, pool and locker areas. Answer Total Fitness program related questions, and proper use of office machines (computer, phone, copy machine etc)
Hours: PRN= “varies as needed” in 4-6 hour shifts
EXPERIENCE: Must be an experienced swimmer comfortable in an aquatic environment. No work experience required but would be helpful, will be required to take CPR and Basic Water Rescue within 3 months of hire date.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS: BLS and basic First Aid preferred
EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, WORK AIDS: Office machines, hand tools, patient therapeutic equipment/machines, health-club and fitness equipment.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Should possess ability to interact in a positive, encouraging attitude with members and potential members. Must have a healthy and well groomed appearance. Must have basic computer knowledge. Must be able to learn duties quickly and perform duties independently with limited direct supervision. Should have basic understanding of exercise principles and performance of safe exercise routines.
