Wayne General Hospital opened its doors in 1951 with 30 beds. Demands for hospital services increased and in 1962 additional beds and expanded ancillary services were added. In 1977, a new facility was completed at its present campus location.
Today the hospital with modern equipment, expanded services and specialized personnel has the ability to provide more medical services to the people of this area. This facility is licensed for 80 beds and currently operates 49 of those beds that offers the following services:
Hospital Services include – General Acute Care including Intensive Care, Obstetrics, Medical & Surgical, Swing Bed, Laboratory, Rehabilitation Therapies (Occupational, Physical, Speech), Emergency including level IV trauma, Ambulance including advance life support, Radiology, Surgery, Diabetes Management Program, and Respiratory.
Clinics – Surgery Clinic, Rural Health Clinics, School Clinic
Other Outpatient Services – Home Health, Hospice and Wellness Center, and Wound and Infusion Clinics
