Schneck Medical Center

Schneck Medical Center, a non-profit acute care facility located in Seymour, Ind., has been a leader of innovative healthcare in southern Indiana for over 100 years. Schneck is a healthcare organization with strong workplace practices—rooted in respect, teamwork, and communication. But, it is our culture the makes Schneck an excellent place to work and provide care. It is something you feel when you visit our organization and the one thing that makes you a part of our mission to improve the health of our communities.

Our culture and pursuit of quality care has led us to become one of the most respected health institutions in the nation. Schneck is the only organization in Indiana to be honored with the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the nation’s highest presidential honor for quality and performance excellence. We are among only four U.S. hospitals recognized for leadership and innovation in quality improvement and safety by the American Hospital Association. And, Schneck received a Five Star Rating—the highest possible rating for quality of care, customer experience, and value of care received—from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services putting Schneck in the top 2.2 percent in the nation.

Schneck’s Cancer Center has been honored by the American College of Surgeons for excellence as the recipient of a commendation from the Commission on Cancer and the Outstanding Achievement Award for cancer care. Its Women’s Imaging Center has been designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence. And, its hip and knee replacement program has received The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for quality and safety and has been designated a Blue Distinction Center by Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Schneck is among only seven percent of hospitals nationwide that have achieved Magnet® status from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Of those, Schneck is among only two percent to achieve Magnet recognition three consecutive times.

Schneck has been named as one of Indiana’s “Best Places to Work” and recognized nationally as a “Best Place to Work” in healthcare by The Advisory Board Company, Becker’s Hospital Review, Modern Healthcare magazine, and HealthExecNews.
