The Bureau of Health Professionals estimates that future shortages of qualified nursing professionals will reach 29 percent, or 800,000 nurses, by 2020.
While facts and figures like this are not ideal for hospitals, it means that the job outlook for nurses is better than ever. The University of Mississippi Medical Center, located in Jackson, Mississippi, is the state’s only academic medical center.
