Trends in healthcare careers are constantly changing. Every January, U.S. News & World Report stays on top of these trends by ranking the Top 25 Healthcare Jobs of the new year.
Using components such as salary, the number of expected openings, projected growth, advancement opportunities and career fulfillment, hospital jobs are ranked according to their ability to meet those employment concerns.
There are hundreds of different jobs in the medical field, so narrowing them all down into a list of 25 can be difficult. So, U.S. News & World report created a system for eligibility for a job to be included on the list.
By using job data, they selected the careers with the highest demand, or, in other words, the jobs with the highest number of job openings from 2014 to 2024 as projected by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Those jobs were then selected to move forward to the next round of rankings.
To rank all eligible jobs into a list of 25, each profession was ranked on several factors and given an overall score on a 0 to 5 scale. From there, the 25 highest ranking jobs were given a spot on the 2017 list. Without further ado, here are your top 25 best healthcare jobs for this year.
