The Paramedic performs specific functions as defined by approved medical protocols under the direction of the attending ED physician and assists the nursing staff in care of the patient in the Emergency Department.  The Paramedic reports directly to the ED Nursing Director and has general oversight from the ED Medical Director.  The position relies on education and training to complete responsibilities within the scope of practice as a licensed Paramedic. Answers and responds to call lights or uses intercom to determine patient needs, and advises nurse of needs beyond scope of position. 5. Cleans and changes stretcher linen between patients and as needed during patient visit. 6. Empties dirty laundry. 7. Labels, bags, and delivers samples to lab per hospital protocol. 8.
