Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM

Coverage: Full-time onsite + rotating after-hours call. Contract start: December 1, 2026

Worksite: Minneapolis VA Medical Center. Term: 2-year contract

Sygnetics is seeking Board-Certified Interventional Radiologists to provide comprehensive onsite interventional radiology services to Veterans at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System. Physicians will provide consultations, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, patient management and follow-up care while working within an academic VA environment that includes resident supervision, quality-improvement activities and multidisciplinary conferences.

Schedule & Coverage

• Two Interventional Radiologists are required onsite each weekday, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM, excluding federal holidays.

• After-hours weekday and weekend/holiday on-call coverage is required as part of the overall physician coverage model.

• During on-call periods, the physician must respond by phone within 15 minutes and be able to report onsite within 60 minutes when required.

• Physicians must be available for reliable scheduled coverage; the contract requires prompt replacement coverage for unexpected absences.

Key Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients, provide interventional radiology consultations and develop appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans.

• Perform a broad range of image-guided vascular and nonvascular procedures, including angiography, biopsies, drainage procedures, vascular access, embolization, ablation, stent placement, TIPS and other procedures within granted privileges.

• Participate in Y-90/radioembolization and other applicable therapies requiring authorized-user privileges.

• Provide pre-procedure, procedural and post-procedure patient management, including inpatient and outpatient follow-up.

• Interpret required vascular ultrasound and other imaging studies within the scope of Interventional Radiology.

• Complete procedure reports, imaging interpretations, protocols and other medical-record documentation in a timely manner.

• Participate in applicable clinical conferences, tumor boards, peer review, quality assurance/quality improvement and IR service activities.

• Supervise and teach residents and other trainees consistent with VA and ACGME requirements.

Required Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school and completion of appropriate radiology/interventional radiology training.

• Current Board Certification by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) in the applicable Interventional Radiology pathway/specialty.

• Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a U.S. state, territory or the District of Columbia.

• Eligible for credentialing and privileging through the Minneapolis VA Health Care System.

• Current DEA registration and National Provider Identifier (NPI), as applicable to assigned duties.

• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

• Documented continuing medical education, including required vascular CME activity (15 vascular CMEs within the preceding three years).

• Ability to perform the full range of procedures and clinical responsibilities required by the VA Interventional Radiology service.

• Ability to obtain/maintain applicable Authorized User status for radioactive-material procedures when required.

• Ability to satisfy federal background, security, occupational-health and mandatory VA training requirements.

Professional Expectations

• Provide Veteran-centered care consistent with VA, American College of Radiology (ACR) and applicable professional standards.

• Maintain timely communication with clinical staff and respond to pages and consultation requests within required timeframes.

• Work collaboratively with VA physicians, nurses, technologists, trainees and other members of the multidisciplinary care team.

• Maintain complete, accurate and timely documentation and comply with VA privacy, information-security and quality requirements.
