Job Description
Compounds and dispenses medications and pharmaceutical supplies upon receiving written orders from physicians. Reviews and interprets prescriptions and drug profiles to ensure appropriate drug therapy has been prescribed and ensures that drug interactions are considered. Contacts and confers with physicians and other practitioners to optimize drug therapy. Maintains inventory and records on narcotics and other forms of drugs. Participates in the routine supervision and training of technical staff related to daily operations of drug distribution.
Qualifications
BS
No experience required.
Licensed Pharmacist
PharmD and ambulatory/retail pharmacy experience preferred.
This position requires attention to detail; the ability to provide excellent customer service; reliability; punctuality; teamwork; and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Schedule
Primarily day and evening shifts to include weekend and holiday rotations. Position supports multiple UK HealthCare Retail Pharmacy locations which may include coverage at an off campus location. Hours, location, and days of the week subject to change bas
