Job Description
Adventist Health seeks a compassionate RN, Labor and Delivery to provide expert, family-centered care to mothers and newborns in a mission-driven, faith-based setting. You will manage laboring patients, assist with deliveries, monitor maternal-fetal status, and respond to emergencies while collaborating closely with physicians, midwives, and the care team. This role emphasizes whole-person care, patient education, and emotional support, offering opportunities for professional growth, teamwork, and meaningful impact on community health.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to laboring, delivering, and postpartum patients
- Continuously assess maternal and fetal status, document accurately, and respond to changes in condition
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and interventions per provider orders and hospital protocols
- Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiologists, and support staff to ensure safe deliveries
- Educate and support patients and families on childbirth, postpartum care, and newborn care
- Advocate for patient safety, comfort, and birth preferences within a faith-based, mission-driven environment
- Maintain infection control, patient privacy, and regulatory standards
- Participate in emergency responses, including obstetric and neonatal resuscitation
- Use electronic health records and clinical technology effectively
- Engage in ongoing professional development and quality improvement initiatives
