Registered Nurse- Cardiac Rehab

Job Description

Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Cardiac Rehab program. In this on-site role, you will provide specialized nursing care for patients recovering from cardiac events and procedures, including MI, CABG, PCI, and heart failure. You will monitor telemetry and vitals during supervised exercise, administer medications, and deliver comprehensive cardiac education. Working in a collaborative, teaching-hospital environment, you will develop individualized care plans, support quality and safety initiatives, and participate in ongoing professional development while making a measurable impact on patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to cardiac rehab patients across phases of recovery
  • Monitor cardiac rhythm, vitals, and patient response during exercise and activity
  • Administer medications and treatments per provider orders and protocols
  • Deliver patient and family education on cardiac disease, risk factors, lifestyle, and medications
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized cardiac rehab care plans
  • Collaborate with cardiologists, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
  • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EMRParticipate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and evidence-based practice
  • Precept, mentor, and support colleagues and learners in a teaching hospital environment
