Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Respiratory Manager, works in collaboration with Nursing and allied health professionals to provide value-added services to patients, physicians, and staff in a variety of clinical settings including inpatient, outpatient and emergency services.  Functions as consultant, educator, and clinician to staff inpatient and other settings.  Collaborates with nursing leadership to integrate respiratory care functions into day to day nursing practice as appropriate; trains other personnel as needed.

As needed, develops an active role in the outpatient setting, working collaboratively with leadership and in program development

The patients served by the Respiratory Therapist are typically adult and geriatric patients; however, individuals of all age groups may be served.  In particular, the Respiratory Therapist is required to provide service to both neonates and pediatric patients in critical situations (i.e., neonatal resuscitation, etc.).  Therefore, the Respiratory Therapist must be able to assess developmental needs for all age groups across the life span and adjust care and instruction with regard to the physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs of the patient.

REQUIREMENTS:

Associate Degree in respiratory care from an accredited institution.  CRTT or RRT Certification; licensed in the State of California. BLS, ACLS as well as PALS/NRP Certifications required at hire.  Outstanding communication skills required.  Must have excellent interpersonal ability.  Must be adaptable and flexible to meet the institution's changing needs.  Basic computer skills.

Night Shift | 18:00 PM - 06:30 AM; Pay Range=$39.00-$41.50 per hour, DOE.
