Patient conditions include all levels of critically ill, progressive care, telemetry and acute care needs. The Transitional Care Unit assists with decompressing overcrowded areas within the Emergency Department, Post Anesthesia Care Unit ( PACU ) and diagnostic/interventional radiology as well as evaluating patients from outside facilities for appropriate level of care placement and direct admits from clinic, office, or home. As a part of this unit, the RN serves as an important component of the multi-disciplinary team. This team is responsible for caring for and treating a variety of patients.
