Description The Semel Institute is seeking to hire a full time Programmer Analyst II to assist with data management, organization, and basic computational analyses across multiple projects in the lab. Our research seeks to help better understand how genes work together at a quantitative and systems level to increase risk for neuropsychiatric disorders, such as autism or schizophrenia, and affect in vivo brain development. Specifically, you will be asked to:
* Help to identify lab relevant genomic datasets through various online portals such as dbGAP
* Assist with applying for and maintaining up-to-date regulatory approval for use and access
* Assist with downloading, maintaining, and organizing these datasets on our local high-performance computing cluster (hoffman2) or cloud-based platform (e.g., AWS/GCP).
* Help to install and run currently available bioinformatic tools on these datasets using our local hoffman2 computing cluster or cloud-based platform.
