OR Charge Nurse Coordinator will provide the necessary guidance, coaching, education and expertise to nursing staff in Perioperative Services. Provides coordination of the control desk in Perioperative Services. Ensures smooth operational flow of the unit. Acts as resource for daily operational needs. Under general supervision and collaboration with the Service Line Manager plans, organizes, directs and controls all activities involved in the effective, efficient and economical utilization of material resources and personnel of the delegated specialty service, ensuring patient service is continuous and high quality. Responsible for managing staff mix, deployment, and forecasting of staff to meet customer needs. Relates effectively with Perioperative team members for continuity of care; maintains satisfactory relations with other departments and nursing units. Under general supervision of the Service Line Manager, supports positive relationships within and outside the department. Position acts In accordance with University behavioral standards, University hospital and departmental policies.
