The Health Unit Coordinator/Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for clerical functions in the Emergency Department and assists in care of hospital patients, under direction of a Registered Nurse and medical staff. The HUC/C.N.A. acts as a receptionist and patient registration clerk, performs tasks necessary to schedule patients, coordinates communication and is a messenger for the nursing staff.
