The Diet Clerk may work in any location on health care facilities. Provides the highest quality of service to customers at all times. Receive and process food and food-related orders from customers through ordering systems. Perform cooking duties. Follow food-handling and health and safety regulations and best practices. Responsibilities: Process Room Service customer orders, including patient/family initiated orders and those patients needing assistance. Assist patients with telephone call backs or personal visitation as needed while ensuring adherence to all diet orders. Review computer printout to determine which patients have not placed an order for that meal period, and initiate telephone or personal contact as appropriate. Document number of meals served each day. Take phone calls and fax orders for all food requests. Receive requests for diet changes via computer, fax; or written format during downtime.
