The Leiomyosarcoma (LMS) Project Manager will support LMS focused research within the Sarcoma Center at DFCI, including a new collaboration between Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Count Me In (CMI), a non-profit cancer research initiative, with the goal of improving early detection of a rare form of uterine cancer called leiomyosarcoma. This project is planned to assess how radiologists reading MRI scans may discern whether a uterine growth could represent a benign uterine growth (fibroid) or potentially a cancerous uterine leiomyosarcoma. Distinguishing leiomyosarcoma from more common and benign fibroids can be life saving. Additional LMS focused research is also within the scope of this position as the research portfolio develops.
