Responsibilities Rapid Response Team Overview The Rapid Response Team (RRT) at The George Washington University Hospital plays a critical role in early identification and intervention for patients experiencing acute clinical deterioration outside of the ICU. The Rapid Response RN is a highly skilled critical care nurse who responds to urgent clinical situations throughout the hospital, providing immediate assessment, stabilization, and coordination of care. Working in close collaboration with physicians, respiratory therapists, and bedside teams, the Rapid Response RN brings ICU-level expertise to non-ICU settings, helping prevent code events, reduce patient deterioration, and facilitate timely transfers to higher levels of care when needed.
