Description Under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI), you will conduct studies with a mouse model of white matter stroke examining acute injury mechanisms to axons and oligodendrocytes. The successful candidate will have had prior experience with rodent survival surgeries and in training of these techniques to others. The successful candidate will have at least two years of prior experience in neuroscience or a brain related field and be able to operate independently when performing experiments. Duties include, but are not limited to: perform precise stereotactic surgeries on mice, handle and inject lentiviral constructs into brain, process tissue for histological and immunohistochemical stains, independently run research project on mouse stroke modeling and injury response, supervise undergraduate Lab Helpers, train graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in mouse surgery, drug and lentiviral delivery, participate in lab maintenance, supply ordering...
