Job Summary: Plan, manage, coordinate and evaluate operations of the department. Maintains 24hr accountability for staff and department performance. Participates in organization-wide coordination of patient care and integration of departmental activities consistent with the corporate, division, and departmental mission, goals and CARES values.
Qualifications: Current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi-state (compact) license). Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's preferred. Professional nursing certification as defined by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) within 18 months of hire. At least three years of progressive nursing management experience in acute care setting. Thorough knowledge of general nursing principles, methods, and techniques. Demonstrated skills in performing nursing procedures; ability to deal tactfully with patients, physicians, department heads, and families/visitors. Significant ability to coach, mentor, and manage staff. Current BLS, ACLS, PALS as requried by specialty area.
