Job Description Summary
The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology clinic is a very busy Pediatric Clinic that treats a variety of hematological and oncology patients. We are unique in that we see regular clinic visits as well as perform infusions. Our clinic team consists of RNs, CMA, and administrative assistant who work alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver quality and safety of care for our patients. Each day’s workflow varies depending on the clinic, but includes working as a team that includes: patient triage, in-clinic procedures, administering chemotherapy, blood products, IV antibiotics, patient/parent education, medication administration including vaccines, CVC line care, obtaining EKG, and care coordination. Team members work alongside providers (including physicians, PAs and NPs) during patient clinic visits to provide the needed care our patients deserve. Other team members that we work alongside include social workers, Pharmacists, Psychologist, and Phlebotomists.Entity

Scheduled Work Hours/Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, no nights or weekends.
Job Summary/Purpose: Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required. Current APHON Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider certification required or obtained within one year of hire or transfer.
Minimum Training and Education: Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred. RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date. Refer to policy A141 for more details. A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required.
