Job Description

Stewart Memorial Community Hospital is seeking a Chief Clinic Officer. This position joins our Senior Leadership Team in providing strategic development and implementation to continue a culture of exceptional experiences with both staff and patients.

 

The CCO will be highly visible and lead by example setting the stage for the delivery of patient care in the clinic departments, continuing the high standards set by SMCH as recognized by the Des Moines Registers Top Workplaces in employee engagement.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership and development opportunities to multiple department leaders directly reporting to the CCO.
  • Create horizontal teams to effectively collaborate between all departments to ensure an integrated approach to providing services.
  • Carrying out the objectives of the hospital and clinic related to patient care with both short and long-term strategic goals.
  • Play a key role in developing clinic services with oversight to increase business and create new opportunities to enhance market share and improve overall performance.
  • Research and implement evidenced-based practices.
  • Clearly communicates expectations and provides timely and consistent feedback.
  • Ensures sound fiscal operations of all patient care areas the CCO overseas.
  • Knowledgeable regarding Conditions of Participation and regulatory requirements delivering guidance to teams on maintaining a highly compliant environment.
  • Live the mission, vision and values of the organization related to coordinated care and exceptional experiences through building direct relationship and an inclusive environment.
  • Plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Education in healthcare administration.
  • Bachelors degree required. Masters preferred, must be willing to obtain within 5 years.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 3 to five years of previous leadership and management experience required.
  • Experience in hospital administration and/or in a clinic setting.
