Position Summary:
The outpatient rehabilitation medical receptionist/technician is the first point of contact for the patient. Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to, greeting patients as they enter the clinic, answering incoming phone calls, scheduling patients, assist in the patient registration process, communication of benefit information, scanning patient documentation, collection of payments, and running reports indicated by managements. Provides support in patient care and in carrying out therapeutic activities as directed by the therapist in a team environment consistent with professional practices and ethical standards. Provides cleaning and preparation of treatment areas and equipment as established by the department. Will have home facility assignment but remains ready to float emergency situations to other TH locations. The employee will complete other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Experience:
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Previous experience with Insurance Payer regulations preferred
• Medical terminology knowledge preferred
• Prior experience with interpreting and following detailed policies and workflows
• Prior experience with electronic medical records in a healthcare environment
• Prior experience obtaining authorizations and scheduling appointments, rehabilitation preferred.
• Prior experience with Meditech, Raintree software program, and Microsoft Office preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Time Management skills/ability to multi-task preferred
• Ability to quickly develop rapport with customer base including but not limited to physicians, coworkers and ancillary personnel
• Demonstrates the ability to independently think and make judgments in interpreting and adapting guidelines and making judgment decisions on specific problems

Medium: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert 20 to 35 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
