General Description:
Under general supervision, will provide services for the Respiratory Therapy Department in a timely and efficient manner for all appropriate age levels and in all areas that are served by the department.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program.
Experience: Two (2) years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting preferred but not required.
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care. Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. ACLS (American Heart Association) required within 3 months of hire.
Special Requirement: If hired without current registration (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care, incumbents must receive at a minimum the Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential within 90 days of hire. The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential must be received within 12 months of hire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of procedures and techniques of Respiratory Therapy and the operation and repair of respiratory equipment. Clinical decision making skills appropriate to patient care as it relates to the pulmonary and cardiac system and to the age of the patient. Ability to interpret the appropriate information to identify patient’s needs. Ability to work under stress. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain a good working relationship with coworkers and staff. Some computer skills.
