Bachelor's degree plus one (1) year of directly related experience or equivalent combination of education/experience.

Responsibilities
Serves as lead scheduler. Coaches, trains, and educates other staff members as required. Assists with hiring process as needed.
Maintains current and up to date knowledge of patient scheduling software, policies and procedures for pre-registration, registration, and scheduling patient appointments.
Pre-registers all new patients, scheduling appointments and/or procedures with 95% accuracy.
Obtains demographic data for the referring physician when patient is scheduled, including reason for visit, and documents reason.
Utilizes access resource guidelines/scheduling protocols to determine need for financial counseling.
Identifies strategies to improve operational efficiency of the scheduling process. Continues the ongoing educational and training process to keep current on pre-registration processes, registration, business operations, and payor contract interpretation skills.
Develops customized reports.
Interfaces with information systems and/or outside vendors to troubleshoot and resolve system and software problems and to evaluate future requirements.
Confers with patient’s insurance company to verify resources, insurance or federal program eligibility, and benefits prior to patient arrival, with 95% accuracy. Updates referrals and approvals prior to patient’s arrival.

Requires occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, occasional travel to offsite locations, occasional work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, occasional bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds, occasional climbing, occasional crawling, occasional crouching/stooping, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, frequent reaching, constant sitting, occasional standing, occasional twisting, and occasional walking.
